Lost in The Right Direction

Even though we've been here for a few days, the city of Oxford still shocks me with it beauty. Peter, our heritage class professor, gave us a tour of the City Centre. When we came across the square with a majority of the extremely grand buildings, all of our jaws dropped to the cobblestone path.

I photoshopped and Instagramed this photo one week prior to my
departure and couldn't stop laughing when I saw the actual building for the first time.

On Sunday, Lindsay and I decided to venture out into City Centre by ourselves. When we were on our tour with our guide, Peter, we said we just wanted to get lost in Oxford and boy, did we get our wish. The second we stepped off the bus we had no idea where we were. We found ourselves lost amongst all of the towers and churches and decided to just wander. That weekend just so happened to be an "open doors weekend" which meant a majority of the museums, churches, and colleges were open to the public for free. We took advantage of this and ended up visiting a lot of different places.

Ceiling of the Divinity College (for you Harry Potter nerds... This room was used as the set for the infirmary in all of the films)
There was a little notebook inside of the Divinity College that shows pictures of the set while filming was taking place.

A college square where they had a photography exhibit.

Towards the end of the day, Lindsay and I walked over to the Oxford castle and we climbed "the mound" which is this massive grass hill that overlooks the City Centre. The view was beautiful and we sat up there for a solid half hour just taking everything in.

A dining hall in one of the colleges that we walked through.

We also visited The Museum of Natural History where they had a few exhibits that referenced Alice in Wonderland which was fun. We also visited the Alice in Wonderland shop where they had a ton of fun postcards and teacups that we had a great time looking through.
